Now is the time to deliver your well-wishes to one of your favorite idols, ONCEs. Member Mina has recently tested positive for COVID-19 and is now in quarantine.
JYP Entertainment has recently made an important announcement regarding the current health status of one of its talented and well-rounded artists, TWICE’s Mina.
On the afternoon of May 23, the agency released an official statement saying that the lovely idol has contracted the COVID-19 virus. She is the fourth member of TWICE who tested positive, following Nayeon, Momo, and Tzuyu, who were diagnosed two days ago, on May 21.
JYP Entertainment did not provide any specific details as to how Mina got the virus but they gave an update regarding what precautionary measures they have been currently taking.
The agency revealed that all TWICE members tested negative for COVID-19 through PCR testing after arriving in the United States, through daily antigen testing, and through departure PCR testing. Moreover, Mina tested negative through PCR testing taken before the group’s departure from the United States and after arrival in South Korea.
However, after experiencing slight throat irritation, the female idol took a self-testing kit and antigen test as precautionary measures. Both came back positive, which resulted to her official diagnosis today.
As a result, the idol began her self-isolation immediately in accordance with the guidelines set by the South Korean disease control authorities.
Assuring fans, JYP Entertainment concluded, “We apologize for causing concern among TWICE’s fans and related people. We will put our full effort to ensure our artists’ quick recovery, prioritizing their health. ”
